We recently came across this article on the Bucks Free Press and thought we should share it:
Heroic staff at a High Wycombe pub who sprang into action to help save a man who had been stabbed during a fight have been commended by Wycombe’s top police officer for their actions.
Most people attend a first aid training course either because they have to for work or because they just want to learn basic first aid for babies and children. Almost no one thinks they’ll ever need to put their first aid skills into practice.
However, you never know when you might face an emergency situation. If it comes to it, it’s important that you have the necessary skills and confidence to be able to make the difference between a life lost and a life saved.
Prompt, safe and effective first aid can save lives and prevent minor injuries becoming more serious.
It is often reported that many lives are saved as a result of quick-thinking and effective CPR during critical incidents. This further outlines just how vital the skills learned on a first aid course can be.
Staff at Butlers Pub in High Wycombe provided first aid to a man who had been stabbed during a fight. Their first aid training meant that they were able to respond to the situation and save his life. What an amazing outcome!
Well done to all the first aiders and officers for their efforts in dealing with emergency situations across Buckinghamshire. They certainly deserve to be commended for the first aid they administer.
This just goes to show that all first aid training can make a difference. We offer first aid courses that are engaging and hands on, so you’ll remember what to do in an emergency and why.
